Preview, rename and download. All in one place.
Reduce image delivery weight with a batch workflow that shows original size, output size and progress for every file. Balanced WebP at 75% quality and a 2048px longest-edge cap are selected initially. This can change both format and resolution, so inspect fine text and product details before downloading. Choose original dimensions when resolution matters more than smaller dimensions.
How it works
- Review the initial format, 75% quality and dimension setting before adding your images.
- Drop the batch and compare the ready preview with the original at 100%. Increase quality or change dimensions if the result needs more detail.
- Use Apply & re-compress after any setting changes, then download ready files individually or as a ZIP.
Compression choices and tradeoffs
| Feature | Original images | WebP by default |
|---|---|---|
| Quality | Already encoded source | A new encode at the selected quality, starting at 75% |
| Dimensions | Source resolution | Longest edge capped at 2048px initially |
| No-smaller result | Original file bytes | Kept when format and dimensions are unchanged and the new file is no smaller |
| Target size | Varies by image | No guaranteed KB limit or fixed savings percentage |
Frequently asked questions
What does the default compressor change?
It exports WebP at 75% quality and limits the longest edge to 2048px. Images smaller than that are not enlarged. You can choose a different format, quality or dimension setting before adding files, or re-compress an existing batch.
Is lossy compression the same as keeping every original detail?
No. JPEG, WebP and AVIF quality settings are lossy and are not directly equivalent across encoders. Keep original masters and compare fine detail at 100% before using compressed copies.
What does the Smart Size Guard protect?
For a same-format conversion with unchanged dimensions and no canvas edit, it keeps the original if the encoded file is no smaller. It does not undo a requested format change, resize or white platform canvas.
Can I request an exact size such as 100KB?
Not in the current tool. You can adjust quality and dimensions and inspect actual output sizes. The compressor does not keep lowering quality secretly to meet an arbitrary byte target.
