EXPORT SETTINGSPNG · Max compression

Export AVIF images as PNG for editors that need conventional pixel files. Native AVIF decoding is used when available, with a local decoder fallback. Original dimensions are selected, and PNG supports the decoded transparency. Smart compression can combine similar colors; Keep exact pixels preserves decoded pixels after your chosen edits. Original HDR precision, animation and camera metadata are not retained.

How it works

  1. Choose the AVIF images needed for your PNG workflow.
  2. The page starts at original dimensions with PNG output locked. Adjust dimensions or quality when needed, then use Apply & re-compress for existing files.
  3. Compare the ready preview with the original and download individual PNG files or the batch ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Does PNG keep all of an AVIF file's HDR information?

No. This is an 8-bit browser/canvas export workflow. PNG stores the decoded image but does not preserve the full AVIF container, original HDR precision or animation.

What if native AVIF decoding is unavailable?

The image engine can load a local WebAssembly decoder. If the particular image still cannot be decoded, its row shows an error and the rest of the batch can continue.

Are my AVIF images uploaded for conversion?

No. The converter decodes, encodes and creates ZIP downloads on your device. Large images and batches still need sufficient local memory.

Can I rename all my PNG downloads?

Yes. Keep original names, add a prefix, or choose a custom name plus number. The rule applies to individual downloads and the ZIP. Downloaded files use the actual exported format's extension.
